Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso – 4 Stars

So I read this book about a month ago. This book was super popular when it first came out in hard cover. Since I didn’t really want to pay for the hard cover, I waited til it came out in soft cover. The soft cover edition came out last September. I was really excited I waited cause it came out with an extra chapter!

I didn’t read the reviews before I bought this book, I just knew that loads of people loved it. I found out that this book was  motivational book mixed in with a autobiography. It talks about how Sophia, the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal created her empire.

For those of you who don’t know, Nasty Gal is a super trendy online clothing store. They sell their own clothes, used vintage clothing, and products from other brands.Their clothes are on the pricey side, but they have loads of unique and fun things you can find on their store.

I go on and off the whole motivational book genre. I usually really like them, because they motivate me to be more productive. I really liked this book though. I felt like it was different when you compared it to other books in this genre. Firstly, this book is targeted to bad ass women. She calls them #GirlBosses. I love it because she is so encouraging. She really focuses on working hard for what you want.

One of the best parts about this book is how real she is. She says things the way they actually are. She calls you out if you’re being lazy. At the same time, she didn’t go to college. She failed multiple times, before she found something she was passionate about and genuinely enjoyed. She shows that you can still succeed in life without taking the “normal” route. She was honestly just such a quick and refreshing read. I rate this book 4 stars. If you need something new to read, I suggest you pick up a copy of this!

Have a great day!
